Travis Crews: Veteran from Kanas

1. I was told a false story about Travis he is not friend of dirty politicians he has been here for more than two months. I talked to Travis two to three weeks ago at the GI Forum. I received his story of staying at GI Forum residential center and he too was attacked and treated very badly by the Director Aaron Cavazos like so many others before him. There is a new assistant director Mr. Kirkendall. Both these men claim to be pastures and men of God but that is not reflected in their actions. Travis chose to leave because of the terrible living conditions and the horrible indecent way people are treated and believe many of those stories are listed on this Tumblr. They took his things and refused to give them back and refused to be accountable for their where bouts.  When we receive a bunk at the GI Forum we get a wall locker with padlock on it, we keep one key and one is given to the Forum. These keys are locked in a safe box at the front desk. Only security and the directors have access.
   Mr. Kirkendall received phone calls from Travis and became angry, unprofessional, unemphatic, he told Travis he didn’t know who unlocked his locker and took his things. He went so far as to tell Travis is no longer allowed to call him again with this problem. The assistant director is responsible for knowing who has the keys to these lockers and who is accessing the personnel belongings of these veterans, IT IS HIS JOB TO KNOW. It is not his job to be nasty and tell a veteran he is not allowed to call the GI Forum Residential Center. Travis agreed to never call Kirkendall’s number again, business number. Travis then attempted to talk to Cavazos and this man is always nasty to all veterans and staff the fact he yelled at Travis is not surprising one bit that is the same demeanor he had with me. Cavazos told him he did not know where is belongings were at, then he demanded that Travis talk to his face about the missing belongings. That is a threat because Cavazos gets veterans in his office and he literally threatens and intimidates them.
   

   1. At some point in time Cavazos was heard saying that Travis was AWOL and that is why his belongs were taken. Travis is not active duty he was not AWOL and the transitional housing is not jail. He claimed that the veteran left without permission. This doesn’t make any sense Veterans don’t need permission to come and go from this facility. Cavazos admitted to knowing that his belongings had been taken with all these outrageous statements these are excuses for him to justifying taking the veterans things . Aaron Cavazos has been doing this since he stepped in the position of director. I watched him with my own eyes claiming veterans left their belongings, the electronics go to his office and other items go to the upstairs donation room. I watched Cavazos put veterans’ things on the sidewalk outside while they were at work never giving them notice to collect their belongings. He sometimes would do random locker inspections and find contraband. I understand discharging the veteran, however I feel there is a respectable and ethical manner in which to discharge the veterans. 
      It has been about three weeks since Travis filed a police report with SAPD he was suppose to be assigned a detective and an investigation was suppose to be conducted. He has not received one single phone call from SAPD he does not even know if they assigned a detective. If he has not received a call then obviously no investigation into this manner is being conducted.  This is exactly what SAPD did to me with the bad checks written by my ex-husband in my name. When the ex-husband used my library card to charge more than a thousand dollars I had two different detectives and nothing was done. I talked to a detective Mitty (something like that), she was nice but she too did nothing. This is what SAPD does nothing. Aaron Cavazos is their special friend and he is protected what ever he does is OK. Veterans and Active military are not treated right in this city.
      Travis is NOT getting his VA benefits and as long as Cavazos is director of the GI Forum Travis will never get any benefits Cavazos will block his benefits. SAPD will never conduct a proper investigation into Travis’ stolen personnel property valued at 500.00 dollars. Now Travis is on the streets homeless because of the severe mistreatment of veterans at the GI Forum.
