CHRONIC HOMELESSNESS WHEN MARRIED TO GREG
Chronic homelessness and utility turn offs;
On October 1st 2003;
Gregory J. Marshall purchased a home in Essexville Mi. for his family. The home was in desperate need of repairs and his wife who was 9 months pregnant began these repairs with no assistance from her husband.
On July 21st 2006;
There was an order served that this home was to be reposed, Mr. Marshall moved his family into his mothers home in Howell MI in November 2006. He stayed at their Essexville home without his family for the following 5 weeks, until he turned the keys over to the mortagage company.
On May 04, 2007;
Mr. Marshalls’ mother died and his sister proceeded to legally evict us from her mother’s home. The eviction records are in the court systems in Brighton Mi. The automobile that we were driving and making payments on was in Gregory’s mother’s name and his sister began the legal procedures of having the van reposed.
On July 17th, 2007;
Gregory J. Marshall moved his family to Texas at which time his family was homeless and began living in a Motel. While staying in a Motel we received word that Carol Marshall (Gregory’s sister), had illegially entered the home that we still maintained possession of and began to remove our belongings from the home, including and not limited to our children’s clothing, toys, SSN cards, birth certificates and two automobiles that were in our name.
Witnesses to this were:

We retained an attorney and our attorney advised us to return to the home to secure our possessions and Gregory Marshall refused to allow me to return to the home while he stayed in Texas to work.
We lost 52,000.00 worth household possessions, I drove to Michigan by myself in a rented cargo van on November 11, 2007, I was accosted by Mr. Marshall’s sister her boyfriend and three of his cousins. The neighbors Jeff and Cindy helped me to empty an entire house in one day by myself and pack as much as I could into a cargo van and what wouldn’t fit was put into Jeff and Cindy’s basement.

We moved into a home in Providence Texas, close to Gregory Marshall’s work. I was pregnant in Dec. 2007 of that year. In February of 2008 our water was turned off and we went six weeks without running water and did not get service back until July 18th 2007 when the landlord turned the water service on in their own name, this water bill is still due and on Dawn Marshall’s credit report. We defaulted on our lease agreement starting in May 01st 2007, Landlords came to the home in July of 2007 Gregory Marshall instructed all of us to hide and not answer the door the landlords were forced to call police officers. The landlords demanded rent and or vacating the premises, I was 8 months pregnant and I was packing the contents of the home myself with the help of my niece Kelly Neering, while Gregory Marshall laid in bed watching T.V.. In order to get the home into its original condition I (Dawn M. Marshall) borrowed a lawnmower from the neighbors and proceeded to cut the grass while I was 8 months pregnant. I was also forced to borrow water from neighbors and boil it on the stove for cooking, drinking, bathing, and washing dishes.

On July 6th 2008;
We were able to secure a u-haul truck and began to drive to San Antonio Texas where my husband assured us he had a new job. We had no money and no place to live. We stayed in a motel until our money ran out and then we were living in a u-haul until we were able to secure a home. I found a home at 3458 Sumatra Cliff in San Antonio I began negotiating with the real estate agent that was selling the home her name was Guilimma Guerra. She understood our desperate situation and allowed us to move in. We were unable to pay rent for the first 5 months as agreed upon because Gregory Marshall was not receiving payroll as agreed upon from his new employer. Mr. Marshall sent me to his employers’ house to collect payment from his employer. She reluctantly gave me a payment for two weeks of work although Mr. Marshall had been working for her for 3 months. After that pay we went 6 weeks without another pay check.
Mr. Marshall had agreed to come home during his lunch hour several times to get food for the family and allow me to register the children for school (attached is an e-mail correspondence when Mr. Marshall failed to come home as agreed upon), my children started school late this year because I was unable to get to the school in a timely manner. I was 8 months pregnant with three other children in the home and I did not have one once of food in home and no way of getting any food. On August 17th 2008 our automobile was reposed which made it even more difficult to get food and because I was due to give birth in 3 weeks I was panic struck. Kelly Neering was with me during this time and my 9 year old daughter was returning from Michigan and I had no way of getting to the airport to get her or to get my niece to the airport to get home.
When I went into labor on August 23rd 2008 I had no way of getting to the Hospital and the details to this event are disclosed in another statement.
Lisa and Dan Vanackern allowed us to borrow their car so we could get the girls to and from the airport and I was able to go the assistance office and get emergency food aid and much needed Medicaid.
The real estate agent and owner of this home were continuously asking for payment and we were unable to pay.
Christmas 2008 we were unable to buy Christmas presents for our children so Mr Robertson and his mother agreed to send me some of the children’s toys that were left in Michigan when we moved to Texas. Upon receiving these toys I tried to make them look new and wrapped them and put them under the tree.
April 23rd 2009 Mr. Marshall decided to purchase SeaWorld passes even though we had outstanding bills and still owed money on our current automobile.
On June 19th 2009 our family had been planning to drive to Michigan to deliver my daughter to her father for summer vacation and visit our family. Mr. Marshall decided he wasn’t going to go with the children and I to Michigan and he was making I (Dawn Marshall), drive across the country with 4 small children alone.
When returning home on July 2nd 2009 two of my neighbors informed me that Mr. Marshall had a woman in and out of our home while I was away. When I was in Michigan and I was unable to reach my husband I can’t his employer when she answered the phone she said with no prompting “I don’t know where Greg is, I haven’t seen him in hours, I haven’t been to his house and he hasn’t been to my home”. This phone conversation will later be brought up continuously between Mr. Marshall and myself and in marriage counseling offices.
Another neighbor in this neighborhood informed me that Mr. Marshall left our infant son in our automobile in the blazing hot sun while he walked our other children into the pool area of the community, this neighbors statement will be supplied as needed. She has assured me that this is an incident that she will never forget.
August 01st 2009 the home was being reposed by the mortgage company and we were forced to move, I was in constant fear that a sheriff would show up at the door and give us two hours to vacate the premises. When we moved from this home we still owed more than three thousand dollars in back rent.
My niece who came to stay with us each summer was with us during this time and can testifiy to the living conditions and the lack of concern displayed by Gregory Marshall.

On June 21st 2010;
I was struggling to find a home to move my family to we were due to be homeless in less than 10 days I found a home that was vacant in a near by neighborhood and I found the owner of the home and proceed to offer to do repair on home if we would be allowed to move in his home without security deposit. Mr. Marshall provided proof of income by producing a website with himself as CEO of said business, the website and business was fake. We were unable to make rent payments for the first 4 months of our occupancy. I Dawn M Neering-Marshall was able to complete 6 years of taxes that Mr. Marshall failed to do or inform his wife of the fact they needed to be done. We lost 3 years of refunds totaling 18,000.00 what we did receive allowed us to catch up on rent and utility bills.

On December 20th 2011 I Dawn M. Neering-Marshall phoned Hubert C. Robertson begging him to borrow me money to pay the electricity bill at 1322 Summit Bluff, San Antonio TX. 78258. Our electricity bill was being shut off, Mr. Robertson agreed only after he talked to Gregory J. Marshall at which time Mr. Robertson asked Mr. Marshall why he was unable to take care of his family and supply a home with electricity, and running water.
We had no phone at the time and no vehicle, Mr. Marshall refused to walk across the street and ask neighbors to use their phone to assure that electricity would remain turned on.
Mrs. Marshall was forced to do so.
